A few weeks ago someone in YSW found a big wasp nest in their roof (photo below). They called 1823 who passed them to FEHD who told him that they did not deal with infestations on private property.
The FEHD and 1823 websites:
http://www.fehd.gov.hk/english/safefood/risk-pest1.html and
http://www.1823.gov.hk/eng/FAQ/009010/index.shtmBoth state that :

FEHD is providing wasps/wild bees disinfestation services to public places. However, the services would not be provided to private or public residential premises appointed with building management companies, as well as all private non-residential premises.
If you read this carefully, it says that it excludes premises with "building management companies"; i.e. blocks of flats as in urban areas.
Probably none of the village houses here have such committees.
But people who do not read past "the services would not be provided to private or public residential premises", can easily conclude that all private homes are EXCLUDED from this service.
And so, as above, a Lamma resident was told simply that FEHD will not serve private property.
So I asked 1823 to clarify. Took them over two weeks to confirm that they DO serve village houses
