Yes, he's the quite well-known Humanist Tony of Lantau. I'll let him know about your sign-on problems, EILEEN. He's not a member of these forums yet, I think, even though he's just written that "We here on Lantau really admire your Lamma website, it reflects the Lamma Island style/people.", which came as quite a surprise to me. |

Well, I took it as a compliment coming from a very respectable personality like him. Yes, this site should reflect the Lamma style/people, good and bad, warts and all, focusing on the good and promoting it, but not hiding the bad. But in these forums everything goes. I wonder sometimes what impression we give out to the world, especially in the Fight Club... Tony's new HK forum is a more serious affair, more for politically and environmentally active people. A few of those might be left on Lamma? He describes it as: "Hong Kong node of the Asia-Pacific Forum - to look at local issues and make positive resolutions and/or helpful statements that can be circulated among the general public by various means. Through the Forum, we would aspire that we each become an instrument for promoting real change." |
