Alan {L_WROTE}:
Like snakes and dogshit, if you live here you learn to deal with them.
Hahaha, that explains both our different attitudes to living on Lamma, in one single sentence!
I live here, so I've learnt to deal with... wild, almost unspoiled nature on most of the island, amazing sunrises/sunsets, almost no traffic of any kind, friendly dogs/pets, beaches & butterflies, and 67+ nationalities of mostly friendly, fascinating people of many colours, languages, religions and world views.
Yes, we have lots of snakes, dogshit, VVs and other "inconveniences", but they pale in comparison to all the advantages for many of us, like myself.
But Lamma is definitely NOT suitable for most people. Less than 0.1% of HKers has chosen to live here and the population is growing only at 1%/year over the last 10 years (Govt. census), considerably less than the rest of HK.
