Post subject:  Dickstock 2016 -- missed it
Just heard that there was a Dickstock tonight.

I guess it was invitation only, since no one posted a word about it in the forum.

I just looked at the Lammazine and found two references, both only point to a
Facebook page which says
"Sorry, this content isn't available right now".

I hope a good time was had by those who were in the know.

Dickstock posters were all over all Lamma-related Facebook groups and the organisers (not me) used word of mouth (best on Lamma) and Facebook only to promote the event. The several hundred people had a great time and it was standing room only, 9 bands and groups, working on my photos right now.

Printed posters were available at the event from the artist's wife directly, but not on Lamma's walls, to my surprise, a first for Dickstock.

It was invitation-only for all my links from my listings of the event on the home page and the Events page??
The poster has been displayed since it became available over a week ago, including the Lamma Events page.

Ooops, I didn't realise that the Facebook link was tagged private, nobody mentioned that before the event. It was a public event and promoted in most Lamma-related Facebook groups and this website only, most in public.

Here's the poster again that much of Lamma must have seen dozens of times online till yesterday. The artist, Harry Harrison, published it all over Facebook several times in many places.

Yes, unfortunately that's our virtual reality these days. All Lamma events have their own Facebook pages and not much else in ways of promotion. All I can do is collate, list, link and promote them to all the Lammaites NOT using Facebook or having something better to do than follow all Lamma-related groups and businesses (which I do, great research tool for Lamma-zine), instead of copying all the details for our few non-Facebook users.

Facebook has killed off most event and restaurant websites, as most smaller events and restaurants on Lamma don't even bother with non-Facebook promotions anymore. All we can do is link and I usually make sure the links are public for everybody.

But there is no list of most Lamma events on any other website or Facebook page, so we still have a central role to list, linkl and promote all these many separate events and businesses.
