Yu Lai Fan {L_WROTE}:
The trees were a hazard as the branches were hanging too low and hurt some
people's heads when walking underneath.
Yes, I heard that Yao Ming bumped his head the last time he came to check his Hotmail at the library.
Yu Lai Fan {L_WROTE}:
The stem of the biggest tree was dry and rotten inside, full of worms and insects,
as confirmed by a govt. expert who had a close look at the trees together w/Ms. Yu.
Well, since they've removed the evidence we can't dispute that. Funny how healthy it seemed to everyone else. The stump is solid and may even regenerate in 10 or 15 years.
Yu Lai Fan {L_WROTE}:
The trees were old & "dirty", attracting mosquitoes & bugs, even snakes.
Yes, let's cut down all the dirty trees. Don't worry about draining the sewage pools that breed mosquitoes.
Yu Lai Fan {L_WROTE}:
3 burglaries have happened at the library. The trees might have given hiding opportunities to the burglars.
I spoke to the library staff this morning. They didn't know anything about the tree cutting and certainly hadn't requested it. As for burglaries, they had one ten years ago. The windows are now securely barred.
Well, on the bright side, the house above now has an unobstructed view from their garden. Funny YLF didn't mention that.
