Another little mystery. There's been a small, stationary barge outside Yung Shue Wan harbour, far beyond the ferry pier, for quite a while now. It's small and never seems to move. Or does it? What could it be? Another one of HK Electric's? Undersea power cable repair or maintenance?

Below is the best shot I managed to take with my maximum 135mm zoom at 10.2 MPixels. These are actual pixels, it's not scaled down for the web.
Maybe one of our bird watchers could train their huge power zooms on it and get a better shot?

Not sure if its anything to do with the power station but attached a notice from marine dept.

OK, they're drilling holes and "vibrocores" for 4 months.

But WHY? The notice doesn't even give a hint for the reasons...

The area in the map is actually the future outflow (500m) of the Sewage Treatment plant that will be built in the area of the current temporary helipad in the next few years...

But Waterworld II with Kevin Costner is in the cinemas already!

It's called "The Guardian" and running right now, about heroic adventures and rescues at sea!

They changed the title role just a little bit, from an amphibic loner in Waterworld I to a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer, but it has all the same usual Costner movie quasi-religious themes of loss, honour, sacrifice, heroism and redemption...
