There was an interesting idea in the SCM Post a few days ago, in the SAR Column, from Gemma Chow:

"How about a Lamma Grand Prix, where drivers race those little carts around the island?"

Any feelings about this wild idea?
Macau can do it in its narrow streets, why not Lamma?

I think that most of our VV drivers must have heard of this idea already! They seem to be actually practising for this future race every single day!

Will there be some sort of hospitality tent with canapes and fine wines? Perhaps even a little champagne.

How about His Lowliness walking on the water, or just floating in his brown robes like a little shit?

Mai, oui, certainement, monsieur le connoisseur francophone!

There should be the finest French champagne flutes, Beluga caviar, freshly shucked oysters, sauteed frog legs, escargots and Beaujolias Nouveau (races are in the autumn, n'est-ce pas?), naturellement!

But all this delicacies will be free for the VV race drivers only! The spectators will have to bring their own doggy bags or instant noodles!

Already planned. Why do you think they're going to spend 10 or 20 million on extending the road through Yung Shue Long to loop back via Sha Po? The usual excuse "emergency vehicle access" is a load of crap, as it doesn't even directly connect with the fire/ambulance station.

Even if the Grand Prix should somehow slip through our grasp, we can look forward to high speed drag races on our new ring road next year.

Yes, I was wondering about the real reasons behind this planned massive ring road, too, with big payouts for many property owners along it and lots of "jobs for the boys" in local construction. :?

But as it's supposedly for EVA, does it mean that the emergency vehicles will join in the races with the VVs, maybe clearing the way with their sirens for the racing VVs behind them? Maybe there could even be bike and rollerblade races! :D <HR>
Seriously, anybody knows more about this ring road, announced on the bulletin boards? Let's dub it the Lamma Grand Prix Ring, after many other famous race courses!

A site meeting about the planned EVA Road,....
turn up at the HSBC

There's some confusion about where the rendezvous is. Latest word is "Kam Shan Terrace (after Brothers if you come from the village) where there's a sign saying the North Lamma government school."
