Kevin Sinclair:
greetings friends - i did a story last week with alex chan, head of the citizens party. WHAT A TERRIFIC GUY! here's a politician not only with a heart, but a head. he's committed totally to sensible and sustainable environmental causes. he's just - yesterday - signed as a district council candidate for lamma constiuency in the forthcoming district election. he's building a website which i foward below.
you lamma residents are lucky. i wish to god we had a candidate like alex in saikung.
i can recommend him to you all.

Hi Kevin,

Oh yes! Definitely. I'm building a website now: take a look and forward to your friends: http://www.citizensparty.org/Election/A ... paign.html

I'm also drafting a page of my election platform. Will post it and let you know soon.

Alex

Sheila,
Nice little plug for Alex from Kevin Sinclair.
Which story is he referring to and can we get a hold of it?

I've met Alex a few times now and I fully agree with Mr Sinclair.

from Alex Chan, Chair of Citizens Party:

"Thank you for your support of my District Council candidacy on the Lamma & Po Toi Constituency. I'll be submitting the election application form this Saturday, Oct 11. The race is on....

My opponent is going to be Ms. Yu Lai Fan of the DAB. As you know, DAB operates a huge machinery so it is going to be a really tough battle for me. We'll need all the possible help from you in order to win this election.

We are now planning our series of campaign activities for every weekend and some mornings & evenings on weekdays between now and November 23 (the voting day). Our first major street campaign will be on Sunday, Oct 19 (10am to 6pm) at Yung Shue Wan, Lamma.

We'll be distributing out leaflets, which contains our major election platform; and hopefully get some donations. If you can come & help just a couple of hours, please let me know. Really appreciate your support.

I'm also building my election campaign website:
http://www.citizensparty.org/Election/AlexChan-DCCampaign.html. (Haven't posted my election platform there yet in order not to let my opponent know ahead of time. But will do so very soon)."

Just thinking it's a brilliant idea to launch campaign activities at YSW, but perhaps on a Sunday mightn't be so appropriate for Alex and gang.

They'll be distributing leaflets to quite a few of our beloved tourists, who might not be voting in the Lamma & Po Toi constituency. Just a thought...
