One giant leap down the rabbit hole:

To honour our Cheshire k@, moderator of this Lamma Oldsters forum and the winner of our Coolest Online Identity competition, here's a great graphics scanned from #100 of the UK-based NET Magazine.

It has all the major characters of "Alice in Wonderland", incl. the Cheshire k@!
Even LammaNetPolice is in the picture and Lamma-Gung might be, it is rumoured, the big-headed character falling down the rabbit hole, entering the crazy & mysterious world of the Internet...

k@ is really the coolest cat on Lamma.com.hk, it's official now!

(Click for huge version!)

While scanning the above graphics into Photoshop,
it got messed up in a way I had never seen before:

{L_IMAGE}

Looks kind of very interesting, doesn't it?
Let's see what we can do with it, running it through a number of filters...

Starts to look like a (very belated) birthday graphics for the krazy k@!

Thank you Gung,

I see GW Chimp is the mad hatter, very apt. Presumably you read my acceptance speech?

k@ {L_WROTE}:

The Mad Hatter looking like Bush in this Alice in Wonderland graphics above is fully intentional, I believe!
Even though the magazine it came from, NET Mag in the UK, is about the Internet, it's not holding back about "Bush stealing the election" and calling him all kinds of creative names...

I liked your acceptance speech, but making harmless fun of Bush like above with the cute chimp comparisons, is by far not good enough anymore.
The @#$%^&*! is going to turn the US more and more into a totalitarian regime, starting a war unilaterally, slaughter tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Iraq to get rid of a single guy, get most Muslims to rebel against the West and quite probably start WWIII inadvertently, with his war hawks and the industrial-military complex pulling his strings.

And now the cowardly Congress has just given him the power to start the war anytime he likes...
Reminds me when the Roman Senate gave up their powers to Caesar and all the madness that followed...
It's progressed far beyond making silly jokes about Bush...

Conventional warefare is obsolete accept as a method of aquiring natural resources and providing a market place for disposable products.

Present day war is conducted within financial markets as George Soures (splelt wrong?) proved in 1998.

Terrorism at present is simply random assination, an inefficient way of waging war. To have any usful affect, terrorists would need to target soft financial and political targets.

Lamentably these targets would not be those making the descisions but would probably consist of for example:

  • Area managers of banks and their families
  • Sons daughters wives and relatives and employees of congressmen and senitors
  • Key personel and families of key personel in large corporations
  • Personnel from law firms and acountants representing financial and political entities

In other words by accepting employment as support staff of any large financial or political organisation you would immediately become a target.

You can't be an effective boss if you have no one to boss.

The two main Bin Laden targets were the Pentigon containing US military support staff, WTC containing Financial support staff. The fact that these buildings were icons was an added surprise first strike bonus. In future prominant buildings of this type (hard targets) can not be considered the only targets.

In addition: the turn out of voters in so called democratic coutries is falling constatly as populations decide their vote is worthless. How many non-aligned terrorists will be created from their ranks is debatable, however dissatisfaction with conventional forms of representation has always in the past led to extremist behaviour. How long is it before the effectively disenfranchised choose to vote using other means as those who follow Bin Laden do?

Follow the White Rabbit.

"Follow the White Rabbit"?

k@, I thought you're the Cheshire Cat, not the white rabbit?

Who's the White Rabbit here in our Internet version of "Alice in Wonderland"? Any volunteers?

The reference was from "The Matrix"

OF COURSE your reference was from The Matrix!

Ya think we're stoooopid here on Lamma an' know nuthin' 'bout new moovies, Mr. ex-Lamma-ite???

The Matrix is a CULT amongst HK's hip and trendy, simply the coolest movie ever, especially among the glitterati & digerati...

Ok, who wants to be NEO? k@ would aspire to be Morpheus, I assume?
I'm sure that bbChris wants to be Trinity! In fact, she IS Trinity already!
"You know how to fly a helicopter?" "Not yet!" A few seconds later, after downloading: "Let's go!" Oh man, the coolest of all cool babes, beats Lara Croft by miles...

I'll volunteer as Agent Smith, practicing my sneering, mocking and sloooow "Goodbye, Mr. Anderson!", and his disgusted analysis of "Humanity is a disease of this planet, a virus!" (something like that).
I can't wait to see the army of "cloned" Agent Smiths in Matrix II...

Well, most guys would like to be NEO, even though he's Keanu Reeves...

But how should I express this in a diplomatic way...
Say NEO and then look at your Cheshire k@ Avatar, and do NOT laugh!

And now hurry up to read my e-zine I just sent you. You and your friends are featured prominently several times...

Laugh all you like, NEO and that Reeves bloke would rather be me I bet.

Cheshire K@s can appear just as they like, same as NEO does in the Matrix.

Your E-zine doesn't seem to be up yet. I clicked the link you sent but can only find old ones. The e-mail version always comes out wonky and has no pictures. :P

The e-zine e-mail version is "wonky"???
How?
Let me know if you have any problem with it, as others might have the same problem! Nobody else has complained so far, but tehy might just press delete as soon as they see my headline in their inbox...

I need to fix this right away! Did you get the e-mail TWICE? If yes, were both of them "wonky"?

You're right, the pretty html version with pictures was not up yet yesterday. It was just before the deadline, every Friday midnight, when I finished writing and editing the text (you might have noticed some sleepy typos), not enough time to add pictures. Check it again when you get up over there in the UK, it should be up by then...

Any birthday wishes for your friend Nick today, Oct 19?
