I'll be doing an interview with the leaders of the Chinese Opera Troupe performing from this Friday till next Tuesday in the football pitch, the hero and heroine of the several different operas being performed, Lam Kam Tong and Mui Suet See. A photo of the stars below and here's a flyer of photos and photo galleries of their performances here last year.

Do you have any questions that you'd like me to ask them? I'll need the questions by tomorrow, Thursday, noon. Thank you.

The answers, the interview and photos will be published in the Lamma-zine Blog this weekend.

I wonder if you could ask the guy on the right where he buys his make-up? I've been having a lot of difficulty finding that shade of pink in Hong Kong.

Yes, that's a great questions and in the Lamma spirit!

These guys have done loads of interviews over the decades (they used to be movie stars as well), so unusual questions they don't hear every day would be most welcome!

More questions, especially unusual one, please!

Here's another photo gallery of their tenth anniversary performances here two years ago...

I'd like you to ask them 2 questions:

1. Can you ask them to turn it down a bit.
2. Is there a possibility that Nude could play there instead?

Oh, Ive got a good one:

Unlike his predecessors, Kant maintained that synthetic a priori judgments not only are possible but actually provide the basis for significant portions of human knowledge. In fact, he supposed that arithmetic and geometry comprise such judgments and that natural science depends on them for its power to explain and predict events. What is more, metaphysics—if it turns out to be possible at all—must rest upon synthetic a priori judgments, since anything else would be either uninformative or unjustifiable. But how are synthetic a priori judgments possible at all?

Wake up, Gran, the guy from Apple Daily asked him that the other day. His reply, by the way, was

A bit simplistic in my opinion, but I think he's generally on the right track.

He never let on about the pink make-up, though, so I really think he needs pressing on that.

I'm sure and hopeful that we can get some even funnier question from the Official Court Lamma Tourism Ambassador, especially as these 5 days of opera performances are a yearly highlight event on the Lamma tourism calendar, attracting huge crowds of off-islanders!

Hey, it must be important as they even put on special late ferries, every day at 12:30am back to Central and Aberdeen!

I'm serious about this interview and would like to be well-prepared.
What would be your questions, Lamma Tourism Ambassador?

OK, question time is up now.
Just a single usable question, quite disappointing...

Well, our new moderator Samson managed to get 11 usable questions (most of them really good) from the Chinese forum in the same time, so I'm well-equipped for the interview this afternoon...

Thanks to the ones who at least tried to come up with a question...

I thought of a couple.
1. Was it difficult translating all the words from Italian and French into street Cantonese.
2. How come they never do any Kiss numbers when they've gone to all that trouble to look like them.

It must have been quite awkward to conduct an interview without any questions--- the silence must have been unbearable.

Well, 11 questions from our Chinese forums, plus all my own questions were more than enough. They didn't even have time to answer all of them.

And the neighbouring two tables were full with starry-eyed, enthusiastic fans - all of them young Chinese girls from town - waiting eagerly for us to finish the interview so they could crowd around their idols and take loads of pictures themselves. A real fan club (Cantonese Opera groupies?), following them from performance to performance...
