acthk is posting this for a friend. . .
=============================================

You're invited to a UPAA-HK gathering:

Saturday, 21 May 2005 - 7 pm
Outdoor Podium, Isola Bar
4/F IFC 2, Central

RSVP upalumnihk@yahoo.com.hk before May 19.

Thanks!

I assume that UPAA stands for University of the Philippines Alumni Association?

Posting this on a Lamma website means that we've got quite a few alumnis living here? I'm not surprised, looking at all the cheerful BBQ parties in "Little Manila" in Sha Po Old Village or in Diesel's on weekends.

acthk, could you get me in contact with your friend, as I'd love to talk to some of these alumnis for a little story. I know they're usually shy, but they can stay completely anonymous, of course. Just a few questions, like this one for some of the alumnis who might be now working as domestic helpers:

"How do you cope with working for your self-important employers, knowing that you're much smarter and better educated than them?"
