I have read with interest the posts on birds, butterflies, and centipedes. I am moving to Lamma Island in February and am interested to know which of Hong Kong's amphibians occur on the island. Anyone have any ideas?

Can anyone tell me how to get a copy of the field guide, Amphibians and Reptiles of Hong Kong (Urban Council). I haven't been able to find one in the U.S. Thanks.

Nancy

And we certainly have plenty of frogs here. They can be deafening in the wet season.

Thanks Alan. Deafening sounds good to me. Have you seen the newt marching around?

No, but plenty of frogs, toads, geckos, lizards and snakes.

According to the book, the Hong Kong newt is found in "mountain streams in elevations from 250-500m". We don't have any streams at that elevation here. But worth looking.
