I know what you are thinking!
Although this tribune of American CIA influenced propaganda reflects to its utmost the vanities and vagaries of the petit bourgeoisie, it was not me who terrorised your website. I would have rented a plane and crashed it into Lamma's biggest propeller not affecting power output at all.
It was probably one of the computer nerd 'burghers' of Discovery Bay jealous of Lamma's unsoiled footpaths, fresh pungent air, bug shrouded greenery, Silurian insectivores, world class restuarants and profaning voluptuous dragonesque oarswomen, who terrorised you're website.

Allah Akbar

Joking effendi!
Refering more specifically to authors in this forum.
Surely we are all middle class!
I thought 'Token of My........ ' gave you a resounding Huzzah!

Another compliment!
Nobody has honoured me with calling me "effendi" this year so far!

Are you becoming my one-person fan club, dear tjungarayi?
Allahu Akbar!

Unfortunately not! It's my life's greatest aspiration these poor days to raise to the exalted level of "middle class" some day. As a "working poor" without mortgage, without car, without savings, without a regular income I can only dream of becoming "middle class"...

But do I really want to become "middle class"? Maybe not...

Anyone who can afford an education, computer, internet, camera and time to fuck around in cyber space forums certainly aint' working class. And I know you aint' rich as you live on Lamma and not that huge mother f......g small blue and white cruiser anchored yonder that we all wished we owned.
No shame in being middle class LG. Who wants to be a peon, prole or pleb - no money in that.

Well, I'm not working class either, because I'm not REALLY working as a freelancer, at least that's what some of my gainfully employed friends might say. :D

But this topic is actually about "Lamma.com.hk Vandalised by Email Bomb!!"
Does nobody worry about all their emails being blown to smithereens by an email bomb?

Why don't everyone stop being so judgmental about the others...give it break...

I was not after anybodys life story LG.
I agree, from our middle class perspective there is no shame in being poor and uneducated. Many of us rationalise by attributing the mystique of romance to poverty. Are there really any benefits to not having much money?
My point is, just go to some parts of Africa or some such similar regions around the world and it makes one realise that 99% on Lamma, HK for that matter, are petit bourgeoisie.
I think we are all judgemental?

Allah Akbar

Amen to LG's article in the blog! I have been sticking with a similar multiple-backup regimen as LG for several years, ever since I lost a couple of important files (well, important to me, that is).

Now all my backups are deposited in four different locations (including one clear across the country, in case an earthquake strikes here).

The advice implied in the blog article should be heeded by everyone who cares about his/her files. Let's face it, we all tend to take our computer hard drives for granted ... until they fail, that is :?

Now, about that ISP's rather dumb policy regarding email service ........... I'm quite willing to be judgmental about *that* ! 8)

Lamma.com.hk Vandalised by Email Bomb

Is this why all of the amber 'new message' tags have disappeared from this forum? And can we get them back?

Foxy, which amber new message tags? Where did they appear?

Nothing has been changed in this forum at all, to my knowledge.

The ones that appear when there's a new post. As soon as I posted the above last night they all came back. Now they've gone again.

For some reason, the server thinks you've seen them already. Perhaps you're opening them in the background; or someone else using your PC is?

Alan, there's noone else using this old eMac. But again after I posted the above, the message tags reappeared. Now they've gone again .. I suspect they'll reappear after I post this and it's a glitch of this old Mac, but thanks for your input.
