Okay
great photos.
Would it not have been safer for the sailors to put a ladder over the side and climb off the boat. rather than being hoisted aboard a helicopter.
I have never seen a rescue by helicopter off a boat on dry land.
That puzzled me as well. It didn't seem at all nautical not to want to climb down Jacob's ladder. Perhaps some lawyer directed the company to rescue the matelots by hellocopper so that they wouldn't injure themselves and file workman's comp, and if the hellocopper crashed then the operators could be sued. Perhaps the lads were not jolly tars, but technical folk unequal to clambering down a rope ladder.
But the lawyers seem to me to be asleep at the switch as regards what would be thought of, in the USA, as an "attractive nuisance". Mamas on Lamma must be quite upset that their children now have a place that will attract them as flies to shit, full of rusty sharp things.
Or, the Gweilos on PSB may be regarded as expendable. Technically they may violate some silly law by using an unmonitored beach. The law may regard them as ghosts and monsters of the deep whom the sea casts up and shall swallow.
