that really depends on your preferences. a lot of people go for the cities, theme parks and all that and others would simple skip those and go directly into the mountains. i have lately arranged a trip for my boss to go to Yudanaka to visit the "Snow Monkeys" in hot springs. accommodation can be at 10,000yen per day including meals. i do agree with insomniac that u'd need to do some reading to decide.

Well I have time, I go for 2 weeks so, I don't wanna miss anything ! But I'll listen to your advices and buy a travel book about Japan.
