Brian Macnay died recently in Canada. Those of you who may remember him might wish to sign a card in memory of Brian which will be sent on to his family. There is one in The Waterfront and another in The Island Bar. The cards will be collected by Tom Jamieson, Brian's business partner early on the evening of Tuesday 28th October to be taken to Phuket for a memorial service on November 1st and then to be forwarded to Brian's family.

what terrible news!
Was he sick? I saw him only recently (it seems not too long ago) and he looked and sounded good.

I knew him as Brain rather than Brian - he was a lovely man.

Mr President {L_WROTE}:

I understand he died of cancer. While he had spent considerable time on Lamma, more recently he was based in Phuket. His condidion worsened while on a recent trip to Canada and he ultimately passed away in a hospice there. I have heard he received great care there at the end.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday in Phuket. A number of Brian's friends from Lamma will be there.

RIP Brian
