Is anybody familiar with the different types of rock formations?

Also I've only been able to find a cloud covered satellite map of the island on Google Maps. If there's a more effective alternative that would be great.

Thanks

Thanks people. I'm struggling to describe different parts of the island but on the way to Pak Kok from Yung Shue Wan are two small beaches. The second one has a steep climb just after it. On that second beach is the start of a rock formation which is brown, smooth and fissured but can only be accessed by clambering towards it (North ish). The rock is amazing. A true natural beauty but it appears that someone has built a semi complete pier there pouring concrete over the rock. Anybody know the name of this area/story behind it?

Thanks.

The area is Shek Li.

I used to live in a farmhouse nearby and went swimming there very often. It may be the only place on Lamma where you can (safely) dive into deep water. A good place to throw a fishing line too.

Don't know when it was built. Probably to serve the large, mostly abandoned, house above it. Many stories about that, but very little factual can be established (TB hospital, Japanese prison, etc, etc.) If you can speak Chinese I can put you in touch with my old landlady who should know more.

I don't speak Chinese yet but would like to.

The concrete looks a lot newer than post WWII. There's a circular construction too. Shame about that as the rock formation is terrific.

That is (was) a pool, it collected water from the little watercourse that runs down there, but it's broken and doesn't hold water now. May have been a decorative fish pond.

Come, come. You've got something to share.

I'm all ears.
