and not been visiting the site for a while... my excuse work..

Now on to serious topics...
24km race
as you all know the day is looming closer..only 18 ...yes 18 days left to go till the big day
. This Saturday we are training 5pm, so please EVERYONE come on down, it was fab last w/end, and my hands and bum just about healed !
Also a new idea...all feedback welcome, be nice tho'. Been thinking, we have NO sponsorship ..yet, so how about we all get out there and raise some ourselves. You know like you do for a marathon, same thing, I am going to write up a little intro to what we doing, then we go to all our friends, family, work collegues, etc and ask for sponsorship.. i was going to say per km.. but as we SHALL BE FINISHING THE RACE.. say for the full distance. We are a registered team, they are sponsoring not just us, but the whole team... now we could make it interesting as well...and add in a fun part.... each person that donates money to us...ie the sponsor gets to pick a time that they think it will take us to complete the race.. so we collect their name, contact number, money and time...the closest to our finishing time wins a prize !!!!! HOW COOOOOL IS THAT !!
Also, another point to this get up and go get sponsorship is.. if we dont get sponsorship then we will have to empty our own pockets to pay for the JUNK, BOOZE and FOOD... the more sponsorship we get the less we have to pay !!! So come on, I bet each one of us knows at least 5 people that think either we are mad, brave, cant do it, will do it ...what ever...they will sponsor us... there are 20 of us, if each person raises a meager $500 then we make $10,000....all i can say, and i am sure Delboy will agree... thats a hell of alot of beer !!!!
I will discuss with our captains and then email you the sponsor forms...so get ready to GET OUT THERE AND SELL US GUYS... oh another great point is that the organisers, lovely people, say that the event does not have that much publicity... which is such a shame as it is an amazing feat that we are going to do. So by us getting out there and selling it, more people will be interested and hopefully come to watch and cheer everyone on !!
We shall be having a junk to bring us back from the race... the question is, do we get the junk to pick up supporters from lamma and bring them along to cheer us on as well !!! Personally I think THE MORE THE MERRIER AND THE CHEAPER !!!!!
Another small thing..... we want to have music playing in the boat during the race... of course open to yes or no... but i personally seem to have alot more power, and stay in a good mood longer with music...and if nigel is sitting any where near me, i also want him in a good mood
..so for all of you participating in the marathon race... please email or call me or tell me on here..what is your fav song that we can record to bring along....erm no slows, or sad songs for obvious reasons... we want volume and power..and something we can sing along to... Paul D has a great choice for our last 200meter sprint in 'like a bat outta hell' !!!!
